An Outfeed Table Is Essential For Any Table Saw – Why Not Make It Multipurpose

There is some debate about whether to make your outfeed table flush with the table saw top or leave it a little lower – say 1 1/2 inches.

Mine is lower and I prefer it that way. If I'm ripping 2 foot wide strips I can rip 5 strips and and let them sit on the outfeed table before having to move them.

This is a big advantage if your shop is really small and I find it also saves time if you can leave the cut pieces on the off feed table.

And you can always put some scrap strips on the table if you need it equal to the height of the table saw.

Also being slightly lower makes for a better height for assembling projects.
