If It Starts To Get Chilly In Your House There Are A Couple Of Things To Check On Your Furnace

For starters is the pilot light lit? Is there electric power to the furnace?

If those first two conditions are met. Get someone to turn up the thermostat and watch to see if the frames in the furnace come on.

If they come on and then a few moments later shut off there is a good chance that the flame sensor or thermocouple has sent a signal to the gas valve that the flames are present. If that happens the gas valve shuts the gas off for safety reasons.

Sometimes you have to replace the thermocouple , other times it just needs a cleaning. This video will show you how.
