There are several different types of spray foams out there in the market place.

Each one has certain qualities which make it a good choice for a specific application.

Probably the main difference between foams is the amount they expand and the pressure that expansion exerts.

If you are foaming the gaps around a window or door you want very little expansion so that the preasure does not push the frame out of alignment and cause problems with windows and doors closing.

If you are foaming gaps in a structure to stop air infiltration, you want the foam to expand to reach all the nooks and crannies. So long as the pressure from the foam can't move anything your OK.
