Break off the rivets from each tab and put them in stacks of 5

Now take a pair of scissors or tin snips and cut the thin end of the tab. Pry the ends sideways to make a gap.

Now hook 5 of them through the thick part of the 5 tabs on the adjacent link. Make sure you keep the shiny sides out on both sides.

Bend the metal back on each tab to form a closed loop.

Continue this process 5 tabs at a time till you get the length of chain you require.
