Don't underestimate the value of hot glue in the shop or on the job site.

You know that hot glue gun you've got tucked away in the corner cupboard?

You're going to want to dust it off after watching this video.

One of the places I've used hot glue is in the install of plastic laminate back splashes. Put your carpenters glue on the splash, then some dabs of hot glue and hold it in place till the hot glue sets. No need to rig up some kind of pressure clamps.

It can also be used when paneling a wall, when you have a fussy customer who doesn't want to see any puttied nail holes.
