Tying a knot at the plugin does the job in most cases.
I've seen some tradesmen tape the connection together, and there are special female cord ends that grab on to the holes in the male plug blades.
But when you don't want that knot getting hung up on things when you drag you cord around there is a better way.

When your done with the extension cord and saw, put them both away, you can now run over the peice of wire with your lawnmower!
Duct tape works well too and you can run over it with your lawnmower and not worry.
Tie the S.O. B. off !

Been doing this for 4 or 5 years
Just need 3 minutes to un wrap the wire to plug the next tool in. No thanks, I’ll keep tieing knots
