A Lot Of Good Furniture Can Be Made From Reclaimed Lumber

I think the real trick is to choose your boards wisely.

Personally I think this bench would have looked a lot better if the boards were chosen so that the color of the wood was consistent and if you can eliminate the boards with obvious big nail holes so much the better.

If you want to make your bench even a little more professional looking use a miter joint on the 4 corners instead of a but joint.
