There are at least 3 different ways to transplant trees.

When you get smaller trees from the nursery they usually come withe a root ball wrapped in burlap sacking and you just pick them up and plop them in the hole you have dug.

But what about larger mature trees. Well the burlap root ball method still work, although it involves a lot more digging usually by hand to expose the root ball.

Another way is with one of those truck mounted tree movers.

The next method I hadn't seen before. It involves getting all the dirt off the roots with compressed air.
